Bitterroot Valley

Hardwood Flooring in Ravalli County, Montana

Ravalli County is home. Our shop sits in Florence, near the north end of the Bitterroot Valley, so almost every job in this county is a short drive — sometimes just a few minutes. That changes how we work here: we can swing by for a quick consult, drop materials to acclimate weeks ahead, and follow up on a finish without it being a logistical project.

The Bitterroot has two distinct flooring worlds. To the north, around Florence and Stevensville, we see a steady mix of new construction and historic restoration. Down-valley toward Hamilton and Darby, we're often working in century-old homes where the original fir or oak only needs sanding and a fresh finish to outshine anything new.

Climate & Wood-Floor Note

The Bitterroot is one of the drier corners of western Montana, and homes here see real seasonal humidity swings between summer monsoon storms and bone-dry winter cold snaps. We always acclimate flooring on site, advise on indoor humidity targets, and choose finishes that handle the movement gracefully.

Ravalli County

Hardwood Flooring in Florence, MT

Florence is our hometown. We've been building floors out of our shop here since 1993, and we've watched the area grow from a quiet gateway into one of the fastest-growing residential pockets in the Bitterroot. New custom homes on acreage are now the norm rather than the exception.

Most of our Florence work is install — wide-plank white oak, hickory and engineered hardwood in new builds — but we also handle refinishing for the long-time homes scattered between Eastside Highway and the river. Being local means responsive service, easy maintenance visits, and a real face behind the work.

Whether it's a brand-new build or an older Florence home, we'd love to be your hardwood floor contractor.

Ravalli County

Hardwood Flooring in Stevensville, MT

Stevensville is Montana's oldest town, anchored by St. Mary's Mission from 1841, and that history shows up in its housing. Walk the side streets off Main and you'll find homes well over a hundred years old with original wood floors that have been carpeted, painted and patched but never given a proper restoration.

We love this work — sanding back layers of old finish, repairing damaged boards from salvage stock, and bringing the original grain forward with a finish that respects the age of the house. Stevi is about 12 miles south of our shop, so we're in and out easily.

Restoring a historic Stevensville home? Bring us in early — we can help with planning before the carpet ever comes up.

Hardwood Flooring in Corvallis, MT

Corvallis sits in the heart of the valley on the east side, surrounded by hay fields and small farms. The housing is mostly newer or rural-residential, with a lot of well-cared-for homes built over the last few decades.

Most of our Corvallis work is install and finish — homeowners replacing tired carpet or vinyl with real hardwood — plus the occasional sand-and-recoat to refresh a floor that's been around a while. About 30 minutes south of our shop.

Hardwood Flooring in Hamilton, MT

Hamilton is the largest town in the Bitterroot and the seat of Ravalli County. It carries a real woodwork heritage — the Daly Mansion, built by Copper King Marcus Daly, is full of the kind of grand hardwood floors and trim that set the bar for the whole valley.

We work all over Hamilton, from historic downtown homes that need careful restoration to newer subdivisions south of town that need a full install. It's about 35 miles from Florence, so we set up Hamilton weeks as concentrated blocks of refinish and install work whenever we can.

Hardwood Flooring in Pinesdale & Grantsdale

Pinesdale and Grantsdale sit just outside Hamilton — small, tight communities of family homes, many built mid-century or later. We treat work in these areas as part of our Hamilton schedule, which keeps costs and timelines reasonable.

Whether it's repairing a stained section of oak in a Grantsdale ranch or installing a fresh white-oak floor in Pinesdale, the approach is the same: honest assessment, careful prep, finishes built to last.

Hardwood Flooring in Darby, MT

Darby sits at the south end of the Bitterroot, with deep timber-town roots and the West Fork country pulling off into the mountains beyond. The homes here range from old log structures to modern timber-frame builds that lean hard into wood.

Darby is on the far edge of our regular service range — about 62 miles from Florence — but it's the kind of work we love, and we schedule it carefully so the drive is part of one solid week of valley jobs.

If you're planning a cabin, log home or new build in Darby, give us a call and let's plan it out together.
